Long Range Academy: Fundamentals Class

Designed for first-time, beginner, and intermediate shooters, Snowy Mountain Rifles’ Long Range Academy: Fundamentals Class delivers a foundational deep dive into precision shooting. This 3-day course breaks down the essential mechanics of a complete long-range shooting system, from rifle setup and ballistics theory to practical field applications.

Day 1 kicks off with in-depth classroom instruction covering rifle systems, optics, ammo selection, wind reading, and ballistic data. Day 2 shifts to the range for 100-yard zeroing, bench and prone shooting, and position-building drills. Day 3 builds upon those fundamentals by expanding them to extended distances through tripod work and environmental challenges that you’ll face in real-world scenarios.

Participants utilize high-performance Snowy Mountain Rifles and gain practical experience with Kestrels, custom-loaded ammunition, tripods, and other equipment.

Instruction includes:

• Rifle system setup and optics calibration
• Minutes, mils, and cold bore data
• Internal/external/terminal ballistics
• Chronograph usage, data collection, and dope creation
• Wind reading and atmospheric effects
• Tripod and alternate field positions
