John is a lead instructor at Snowy Mountain Rifles’ Long Range Academy, offering decades of expertise in precision shooting, tactical instruction, and riflecraft. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, John served for five years before transitioning into a 21-year law enforcement career, during which he rose through the ranks as a SWAT sniper and later became Team Commander for a regional SWAT unit.
He has a background of nearly 20 years as a certified firearms instructor, specializing in pistol and rifle training for law enforcement officers. John is recognized for his ability to remain calm under pressure and for his exceptional technical skills. He teaches practical shooting techniques that work for both professionals and civilian shooters.
At Snowy Mountain Rifles, John conducts advanced rifle courses, 1-mile shooting lessons, and tactical marksmanship sessions in the challenging terrain of Montana.
Outside the classroom, he’s a passionate outdoorsman and hunter who enjoys sharing his lifelong love of the shooting sports.
