ONE-DAY WIND READING FOR SNIPERS,Shooters, Hunters

Designed for snipers, match shooters, and long-range hunters, this one-day Wind Reading Course at The Range Complex (TRC) equips you with the tools to assess and adjust for wind in real-world conditions confidently. Whether you're behind a bolt-action or semi-auto rifle, this class emphasizes practical field skills over theory.

Classroom instruction (approx. two hours) breaks down key topics:

• Wind direction/speed estimation using mirage and environmental cues
• Wind drift calculations
• Sighting adjustments for variable wind
• Effects of rifle system accuracy on wind correction

You'll then spend 5–6 hours on the range applying those skills in real-time on 600-yard targets. Shooters will engage from prone and supported positions, refining judgment and corrections across changing conditions.

Firearms Requirements:

• Bolt-action or semi-auto rifles (.223–.30-06, no magnums)
• Capable of 2 MOA or better
• Iron sights, match sights, or scopes (10–25x)

Ammo:

• 50 rounds minimum of consistent match-grade ammo (same lot recommended)

Recommended Gear:

• Shooting mat, elbow pads, spotting scope
• Seasonal range wear (sun, rain, or insects)
• Water, snacks, eye/ear protection, and a cleaning kit
