Designed exclusively for active law enforcement snipers, this advanced 4-5 day course prepares operators to deliver overwatch and counter-terror support in dynamic public venues, such as stadiums, arenas, and event spaces. Developed by veteran sniper instructor Mark Lang, the PSRPV™ course is a mission-specific progression that trains you to respond with precision, confidence, and legal defensibility when lives are at stake.
You'll start with venue assessments and a deep dive into terrorist attack trends, then progress through on-demand live-fire drills, observation scenarios, and improvised field firing positions. Instruction includes angle fire theory, communication protocols, and the use of sniper rifles from tripods and barricades—all taught in real-world sporting venues using purpose-built bullet traps.
Key Training Areas Include:
- Site assessment, threat recognition, and planned overwatch
- Shooting from hasty/deliberate FFPs with live-fire reps inside actual venues
- PBIED, VBIED, and vehicular threat mitigation
- Communication, coordination, and sniper/SWAT integration
Required Gear:
- Precision rifle (.308 max, 1 MOA or better, bolt or semi-auto with magnified optic)
- 500 rounds of factory match-grade ammo (no steel core/AP)
- Sniper kit, data book, eye/ear protection, rangefinder
- Tripod (loaner options available)
Pre-requisite:
Successful completion of a reputable introductory sniper course is mandatory. This is a TCOLE-approved training (Course #3324) for law enforcement and military personnel only.
