This 5-day, 50-hour program establishes the baseline skill set every law-enforcement or corrections sniper needs before joining a tactical team. The training focuses on the realities of modern police sniper work, gathering intelligence, providing overwatch, and making precision decisions under high stress. Students develop a working understanding of sniper/observer duties, rifle setup, safety protocols, and how to document training to operational standards.
The curriculum blends classroom instruction with extensive field application. You’ll work through core marksmanship principles, ballistics, reporting procedures, hide construction, camouflage, movement, and case-study debriefs drawn from real incidents. Training also reinforces use-of-force standards specific to LE snipers and proper post-incident documentation. A functional fitness test is included as an assessment to reflect the physical demands expected during real deployments.
Live-fire drills run in all weather and emphasize practical problem-solving, supported positions, and gear management using real deployment kits. Steel and paper engagements refine precision at operational distances, with a strong focus on consistency rather than volume of fire.
Gear requirements include:
- Duty-ready sniper rifle capable of 1 MOA
- Magnified optic, bipod, tripod, rear support
- Deployment uniform and operational gear
- 500 rounds of match-grade ammo
Graduates receive the American Sniper Association Police Sniper Manual and the latest Police Sniper Utilization Report.
Ideal for sworn LE or corrections officers preparing for tactical assignment or seeking to solidify foundational sniper competencies.
