Sniper Craft Northwest is a law-enforcement-only sniper training academy led by two of the most seasoned SWAT snipers in the Pacific Northwest: Mike Bertucci and Phil Glover. Based in Tacoma, WA, the school is staffed entirely by active and retired police snipers with more than four decades of combined field, leadership, and instructional experience. Their mission is straight forward: Build highly capable, professional police snipers who can perform reliably under real operational conditions.
Bertucci brings 25+ years of police service, 21 years on a regional SWAT team, and more than 1,000 sniper missions as a team leader. Glover has over 30 years of experience in law enforcement. Together, they deliver one of the most operationally grounded training programs available to police snipers in the Northwest.
Training is built around current deployment data and supported by the American Sniper Association (ASA) and the Washington State Tactical Officers Association (WSTOA). Instruction focuses on the realities of police sniper work—urban overwatch, intel gathering, decision-making under legal constraints, and precision engagement in populated environments.
Core instruction includes:
- Sniper Basic (5 Days / 50 Hours): marksmanship fundamentals, ballistics, observation and reporting, movement skills, camouflage, hide construction, use-of-force considerations, and operational documentation
- Case Study Reviews from actual sniper missions
- Sniper Functional Fitness Test assessment
- Equipment standards: MOA-capable rifle, variable optic, tripod system, operational gear, and 500 rounds of match ammo
Sniper Craft Northwest trains only certified law enforcement and corrections personnel, with priority given to officers assigned to tactical or specialized units.
