Sniper Courses NEST Program

These are 5-day sniper courses delivered in a structured range and field format for law enforcement tactical teams and military personnel. GTI offers a Basic Sniper course for foundational sniper skills and an Advanced Sniper course for shooters building on existing fundamentals, with instruction tied to operational use as a marksman, observer, and intelligence gatherer.

Training centers on practical sniper tasks in urban and rural environments, including observation, target engagement, movement, and high-angle problem solving. GTI’s tower-based setup is used to teach elevated shooting and the angle considerations that come with rooftop, stadium, and other non-conventional positions, with emphasis on making safe, competent firing and information-gathering decisions.

Key training areas include:

• Sniper nomenclature, weapon selection, maintenance, and weapon manipulation
• Shooting fundamentals, ballistics, and target engagement
• Team movement, sniper operations, and observation duties
• High-angle and angular shooting from elevated positions in non-conventional environments
• Advanced topics including camouflage, tactical movement, final firing positions, field sketching, ranging, wind evaluation, moving targets, barriers, and low light firing

These courses are best suited for LE and military shooters who need sniper-specific instruction in operational contexts. Students must verify employment status, and should arrive with a precision rifle setup, support gear, and at least 500 rounds of match ammunition; a ghillie suit is required for the Advanced Sniper course.
