POLICE SNIPER TEAM LEADER COURSE

This 3-day (30-hour) course is tailored for current and aspiring Law Enforcement Sniper Team Leaders seeking to build stronger programs, elevate standards, and navigate the complex administrative side of leading a precision rifle element.

What You’ll Learn:

• Mission role of the police sniper in modern operations
• Candidate selection and sniper development pipelines
• Creating and refining qualification courses
• Implementing advanced training blocks within your unit
• Weapon, scope, and ammo selection for mission alignment
• Planning and documenting sniper missions, SOPs, and training justifications
• Live-fire ballistic gel testing to compare duty rounds (if range permits)

Students will develop and present a qualification course tailored to their department’s needs, leaving with practical documentation templates, purchase justifications, and leadership frameworks ready for application.

Required Gear & Prerequisites:

• Precision rifle (1 MOA or better, .308 max, 500 rounds of match-grade/duty ammo
• Full sniper deployment kit
• Duty pistol w/ holster + 100 rounds
• Spotting scope, rangefinder, binos (can be shared)
• SOPs and current qual course from your department
• Eye/ear pro, deployment gear, food, and hydration

Eligibility:
Open to active-duty Law Enforcement only. You must bring a department-issued rifle and the corresponding Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation.

TCOLE-certified course (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement).
