Vince Morgan brings nearly three decades of law enforcement and tactical experience to his role as an instructor at Gunsite Academy. He retired from the Columbia Police Department in Tennessee after 28 1/2 years of service, during which he worked in Patrol, Narcotics, the Crime Suppression Unit, and the Firearms Unit, ultimately retiring as a Patrol Sergeant.
Vince spent 23 of those years on the department’s SWAT Team, serving in multiple roles including Perimeter Team Leader, Entry Team Member, Sniper, Sniper Team Leader, and SWAT Commander. He also served as the department’s armorer, maintaining operational readiness across a wide range of weapons platforms.
In addition to his department responsibilities, Vince has taught firearms and tactical skills to local, state, federal, and military units across the country. He holds advanced certifications in pistol, carbine, rifle, and shotgun instruction.
At Gunsite, Vince applies his extensive real-world experience to courses in rifle, carbine, and precision shooting, giving students credible, tested skills they can trust.
Known for his calm instruction and depth of tactical knowledge, he’s respected by military personnel, law enforcement officers, and civilian shooters alike.
