Schylar Cloudt

Schylar brings a unique blend of military service, gunsmithing heritage, and deep backcountry experience to his role as an instructor at Gunsite Academy. He served 10 years in the US Army as an Infantryman, including four years as a Squad Leader during Operation Enduring Freedom, where he developed leadership and marksmanship skills under combat conditions.

Following his military career, Schylar became a fully licensed hunting outfitter in Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico, specializing in predator defense and backcountry hunts throughout the Western U.S. He finds the greatest reward in guiding hunters who share a genuine appreciation for conservation and the outdoors.

A Master Gunsmith and 5th generation Arizonian, Schylar comes from a family with a custom rifle-building legacy dating back to the 1950s. He takes particular pride in building precision long-range hunting rifles that perform in real-world conditions.

At Gunsite, Schylar coaches across pistol, carbine, rifle, and precision rifle platforms. His instruction is shaped by battlefield experience and technical skills, earning the trust of hunters, military personnel, law enforcement, and civilian shooters.
