Tyler Ellsworth is the lead instructor at Standing Offhand, bringing over 25 years of military and law enforcement experience. He began his service in 1996 with the U.S. Army’s 2-2 Infantry in Vilseck, Germany, before transitioning to law enforcement in 2002 with the Prescott Police Department. For 12 years, Tyler led the Prescott SWAT sniper team and served as co-chair of the Arizona Tactical Officers Association Sniper SME Committee for nearly a decade, training and mentoring LE snipers statewide.
Throughout his career, Tyler developed and delivered training programs ranging from recruit-level handguns to high-risk tactical operations and big-bore rifle instruction. His expertise has made him a sought-after resource for agencies across Arizona, often called upon to consult, co-instruct, or help build sniper training programs from the ground up.
