Tyler Hughes

Tyler Hughes is a highly decorated former U.S. Marine Scout Sniper and the founder of Max Ordinate, a premier training institution for precision rifle shooters and law enforcement snipers. During his decade of military service, Tyler completed every primary USMC sniper school, graduating with top honors and earning accolades such as SSBC Honor Graduate, High Stalker, and High Shooter at the Team Leader Course. Deploying multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan sharpened his skills in real-world combat environments.

After leaving active duty, Tyler identified a critical gap in training standards across civilian and law enforcement sniper programs. In response, he launched Max Ordinate in 2013 to raise the bar and set a new global standard for long gun instruction. Today, he is the lead instructor and operations officer, delivering cutting-edge curriculum through specialized sniper and precision rifle courses.

Max Ordinate’s Bravo Training Facility in Temecula, CA, hosts Tyler’s flagship 3-day Sniper Operational Readiness Course. The course covers advanced topics such as tripod deployment, wind correction, alternate position mastery, moving target engagements, and high-stress qualification testing. Graduates earn a performance-based certificate marking operational readiness and real-world capability.

In addition to teaching, Tyler is an accomplished competitive shooter, with multiple first-place finishes in PRS, NRL, Comp Dynamics, and local series events. His ability to blend field-tested experience with technical expertise has earned him recognition as one of the nation’s top marksmen.
