Tyler Hughes, a decorated USMC Scout Sniper veteran and founder of Max Ordinate, leads elite training programs for precision rifle competitors and law enforcement snipers at the Bravo Training Facility in Temecula, CA.

Tyler Hughes is a former U.S. Marine Scout Sniper and the founder of Max Ordinate, a premier training institution for precision rifle shooters and law enforcement snipers. During his decade of active-duty service, Tyler completed every primary USMC sniper school, graduating with top honors and earning distinctions including SSBC Honor Graduate, High Stalker, and High Shooter at the Team Leader Course. Multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan further refined his skills in real-world combat environments.
After leaving active duty, Tyler identified a critical gap in training standards across civilian and law enforcement sniper programs. In response, he founded Max Ordinate in 2013 with the mission of elevating long-gun instruction through a disciplined curriculum and measurable performance standards. Today, he serves as lead instructor and operations officer, delivering specialized sniper and precision rifle programs.
Max Ordinate’s Bravo Training Facility in Southern California hosts Tyler’s flagship 3-day Sniper Operational Readiness Course. The program covers tripod deployment, wind correction, mastery of alternate positions, moving-target engagements, and high-stress qualification testing. Graduates earn a performance-based certificate reflecting operational competency.
In addition to leading Max Ordinate, Tyler currently serves as a contracted Chief Instructor for the USMC III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF) Expeditionary Operations Training Group (EOTG), delivering the Advanced Sniper Course and Aerial Sniper Course in Okinawa, Japan, and Guam multiple times per year. This continued role within active Marine Corps training reinforces his ongoing operational relevance and instructional authority.
